JK Ballet is committed to maintaining a high standard of training within a positive, respectful, and professional environment. The following guidelines are in place to support the smooth running of the school and the development of all pupils.
Classical ballet is a disciplined art form and consistent attendance is essential for progression.
Regular attendance is expected, as frequent absences may result in a pupil not being ready for examinations or assessments. Continued poor attendance may result in a pupil’s place being reviewed.
Absences must be reported in advance where possible.
Punctuality & Collection
Pupils should arrive on time for all classes. Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate.
Parents and guardians are responsible for prompt collection after class. JK Ballet cannot supervise children outside of scheduled class times.
Health & Safety
Any injuries or medical conditions must be reported prior to class.
Pupils with contagious illnesses must remain at home for a minimum of 48 hours after symptoms have cleared.
Pupils with asthma or allergies must bring required medication and be able to self administer where necessary.
Pupils are under the supervision of the teacher during class time only.
Studio Etiquette
The studio is a professional training environment and not a play area.
Running, climbing on barres, or disruptive behaviour is not permitted.
Food, chewing gum, and toys are not permitted in the studio
.
Water bottles must be clearly labelled. Drinking breaks are at the discretion of the teacher.
Parents are not permitted in the studio, with the exception of Baby Ballet class.
Behaviour & Conduct
JK Ballet reserves the right to withdraw a pupil’s place in the event of:

Non payment of fees
-
Persistent poor attendance
-
Disruptive or unsafe behaviour
-
Failure to adhere to school policies, including the Uniform Code

Disrespectful behaviour from parents or guardians towards staff or pupils
All communication with staff must remain respectful at all times.
Fees & Payments
Fees must be paid in full in advance of each term by the stated deadline.
A £10 administration fee will be applied in the event of late payment. Sibling discounts may be withdrawn in the event of late or incomplete payment.
Please note that sibling discounts will be discontinued from June 2026.
Places may be offered to waiting list pupils if fees are not received on time.
Fees are non refundable and non transferable. Missed classes must still be paid for.
Fees cover weekly classes only and do not include examinations, performances, or additional activities.
Cancellations & Changes
Classes may occasionally be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Where a class cannot be rescheduled, credit may be applied to a future term.
Venue, time, or teacher changes may occur where necessary.
No refunds will be issued for timetable or venue changes.
JK Ballet cannot be held responsible for cancellations or interruptions due to circumstances beyond its control.
Withdrawal Policy
A minimum of three weeks written notice is required when withdrawing from the school.
Notice periods do not include school holidays.
Failure to provide notice will result in fees being charged.
No refunds will be issued upon withdrawal.
Online & Exceptional Circumstances
Where in person classes cannot take place, lessons may continue online.
No refunds will be issued in this circumstance. Credit may be applied at the school’s discretion.
Examinations & Progression
Examination entry is at the discretion of the School Principal.
Pupils must be physically, technically, and cognitively prepared. Additional coaching classes will be required at an additional cost.
Regular attendance and home practice are expected.
Progression to the next level is not automatic and is based on readiness.
Performances & Events
Pupils may be invited to participate in performances and competitions.
Strong attendance and commitment are required, and parents must adhere to all performance guidelines provided.
Uniform
All pupils are expected to attend classes in the correct uniform, as outlined in the school’s Uniform Code.
Photography & Media
Photography and recording during classes is not permitted.
Images or videos will only be used with prior written consent.
Personal Property
JK Ballet accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged items.
Unclaimed items will be held for four weeks before being donated.
Safeguarding & Teaching Practice
All teachers are appropriately qualified, insured, and Access NI checked.
Teachers undertake ongoing professional development.
Hands on guidance may be used where appropriate to support learning.
JK Ballet has a duty of care to all pupils and reserves the right to act in the best interests of the child at all times.
Liability
Participation in classes is at the pupil’s own risk.
JK Ballet accepts no liability for injury.
Communication
It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to ensure the school has up to date contact details and to check communications regularly.
